What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a hands-on approach to healthcare that focuses on how the body’s structure and function work together. Guided by the principles of its founder, Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, osteopaths use gentle manual techniques to restore movement, improve circulation, and support the body’s natural ability to heal.

What is Osteopathic Manual Therapy?
Osteopathic Manual Therapy is based on the idea that imbalances in the body’s structure can lead to dysfunction or illness. Practitioners work with the body’s anatomy and physiology to gently release restrictions, support proper function, and encourage the body’s natural self-healing processes.

It connects tendons/ligaments to bone.
It encases every muscle.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF FST™?
Decreased pain
Increased mobility
Reduced vulnerability to injury
Improved posture, circulation, and joint health
Improved physiology such as sleep, digestion, and energy
Corrected structural imbalances (ex. leg length discrepancies).

Hi, I’m Liam Hargis. I grew up in Sault Ste. Marie before moving to Ottawa, where I completed my Bachelor of Health Sciences with a concentration in Biomedical Science at Carleton University. I later graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy’s four-year program with a Masters in Osteopathic Manual Sciences (M.OMSc).

Before becoming an osteopathic practitioner, I worked as a physician’s assistant and in IT healthcare support, experiences that gave me strong problem-solving skills and a deep appreciation for patient care.

Sports and the outdoors have also shaped who I am. I competed nationally in wrestling, played football for 14 years, trained in track and field, and spend much of my free time hiking, canoeing, and camping. These experiences give me unique insight into the physical demands of athletics and active living.

For me, osteopathy is about more than easing pain—it’s about working with the body’s natural ability to heal and adapt. My goal is to meet each patient where they are and help them feel their best, whether in sport, in nature, or in everyday life.

Taryn was born and raised in Ottawa and has lived an active lifestyle since childhood—riding horses at 3 and earning a junior black belt in karate by 12. After completing a BSc in Biopharmaceutical Science, she worked in a lab but quickly realized her passion was in hands-on healing.

Her own experience with injury and recovery led her to study osteopathy for 1.5 years and become a certified Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) practitioner. FST is a gentle, assisted stretching method that targets fascia to improve mobility, flexibility, and nervous system balance. Taryn combines this with a whole-body approach rooted in osteopathic principles.

When she’s not helping clients move and feel better, you’ll find her lifting weights, out with her dog Kiah, cuddling her cat Lyla, or at the barn feeding her soul.

Hi, I’m Monika! I was born in Poland and raised in the GTA, and from a young age I’ve been drawn to supporting others with care and compassion. With a Master’s degree in Human Communication, a background in event management, and a Level 2 Reiki certification, I bring professionalism, creativity, and a heart-centred approach to my work.

I offer Reiki and meditation sessions for children, teens, adults, and couples, tailoring each experience to reduce stress, balance energy, and support overall well-being. My sessions may include breathwork, sound healing, tuning forks, light touch, or essential oils—always with the intention of creating a safe, nurturing space where you can pause, recharge, and reconnect with yourself.

After opening a private studio during the pandemic to provide clients with calm and healing, I’m now excited to share my offerings with the Westboro community as part of the Osteo Naturel team.

Henna Sodhi was born and raised in Ottawa and just recently graduated from The Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton with a Masters in Osteopathic Manual Sciences (M.OMSc). A creative soul, Henna was drawn to a life in the arts at an early age. Henna has always had an interest in understanding people, and how we become who we are. She explored this through acting, trauma informed studies, and exploration of community driven connection. All following her central interest in building uplifting forms of care. After completing the drama program at Canterbury High School, Henna continued her pursuit of acting and a life in the arts at Vancouver’s renowned Studio 58. Henna had struggled with food sensitivities as a teenager and at the age of 24 slowly developed chronic illnesses. Her decline in health lead to leaving her life in the arts and coming back to Ottawa to find healing. She sought allopathic treatment but did not find solutions. Raised with the integration of holistic health care, Henna finally found answers from holistic health practices where she was introduced to Osteopathy through Véronique Vallée. Over the course of their treatments, Henna’s curiosity, wonder, and excitement at the capacity of the body, and osteopathy grew, until Véronique suggested Henna consider The Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton. After further healing, Henna enrolled in The CAO and the rest is history. In the little spare time she has outside of studying Osteopathy, Henna maintains an interest in acting, singing, dance, visual arts, cooking, learning about nature, spending time with her dogs, and connecting with the people she loves. In her constant practise of growth, learning, and understanding, she is grateful for the opportunity to continue her journey of Osteopathy at Osteo Naturel.
